Can I keep my existing business phone number?Yes. Local, toll-free and fax numbers can be ported to 3CTel from most Canadian providers. You keep the number; only the carrier behind it changes.How long does number porting take in Canada?Porting time is set by the carriers involved: a clean single local number is usually quick, while multi-number, toll-free or bundled ports take longer.Why was my port request rejected and how do I fix it?Ports are rejected when the request does not match the losing provider's records: name, address, account number or PIN. Fix the detail and resubmit.Should I get a local or a toll-free number?Local numbers signal a nearby presence and suit most businesses; toll-free numbers suit national reach and marketing. Many businesses use both.Can I get a phone number in another city or province?Yes. Choose local numbers in Canadian area codes such as 416, 604 or 514 and route them to your existing team, wherever you are located.How do I set the name that shows when I call (caller ID)?Outbound caller ID has two parts: the number, set in your system, and the name (CNAM), registered with carriers. Both are configured with your specialist.Can I keep my fax number and send fax by email?Yes. Your existing fax number can be ported and turned into online fax: incoming faxes arrive as PDF by email and you send by email or the web portal.Can I get a vanity number like 1-8XX-MY-BUSINESS?Vanity numbers spell a word or repeat digits. Toll-free vanity numbers are searched in the registry; local ones depend on availability in your area code.
